As VT's recruiting got weaker, it put them into more precarious spots with respect to the depth chart. VT used to be able to absorb some injuries everywhere except for maybe QB. Remember those anonymous comments from other conference coaches that they do every preseason? One of them this year was something like VT's starters can match up with most opponents, but they have nothing behind it.
